The SIDES crew

We keep the platform boring

SIDES LABS is built and run by the SIDES crew at SimplyDelivery. We are not a separate venture, a spin-off or a side project — we are the same team that operates the platform your integration will run on.

Who we are

One company, one platform, one crew

SimplyDelivery builds SIDES, the enterprise platform hospitality businesses run their daily operations on: orders across counter, phone, webshop and delivery, outlets, kitchens, dispatch and payment. It is the system that has to be right at eight on a Friday evening.

SIDES LABS is the part of that platform we are opening up. It is its own service with its own schema — deliberately, so nothing on the partner side reaches into the SIDES platform's own store except through the API, where it is scoped and logged — but it is the same company, the same discipline and the same people. The author of a changelog entry here carries the consequences of the change too.

How we build

The rules we hold ourselves to

These are not aspirations on a wall. They are written down, they are checked, and a change that breaks one of them is the thing that gets reverted.

API first

The spec comes before the code

The OpenAPI specification is designed and reviewed before anything is implemented, and the service refuses to start if its routes and the spec disagree. A feature that only works through our own interface is a bug.

Compatibility

We do not break you

Adding is free. Removing, renaming or changing the meaning of something is a new major version with at least six months of notice. The contract is the product.

Isolation

Your data is yours alone

A partner never sees another partner’s apps, statistics, revenue or team. It is enforced in the query, on every request, and we treat a leak as the worst bug the platform can have.

Privacy

Nothing loads from elsewhere

No CDN, no font host, no analytics beacon, no embedded map — on any page of this site. An IP address is personal data, and a third-party request discloses one.

Publication

Nothing becomes public by accident

Listings, reviews, blog posts and changelog entries reach a SIDES customer only through an explicit, recorded transition. Ratings and featured placements always say where they came from.

Simplicity

Boring technology on purpose

Plain HTML, CSS and modules with no build step; raw SQL with no ORM; the standard library before a dependency. An engineer should be able to read this and see what it does.

Working with us

What you can expect, and what we expect back

We answer as ourselves
Support is being built to land with the crew that owns the code, attached to your partner account — not in a queue that has to reconstruct the context.
We say what is not built
Every page that describes a capability says whether it exists today. A platform that oversells its roadmap is one you cannot plan against.
We publish the changes
The API changelog is meant as a contract, not a newsletter. You should never first meet a change in production.
We ask you to read the granted scope
The token response tells you what your client actually holds, and it is not always what you requested. Reading the response rather than assuming the request is the one habit we would ask for first.
We ask you to tolerate new fields
We add them without notice, deliberately, because that is what makes the no-breaking-changes promise affordable.
We ask you to tell us
A feature-request board with voting is on the way, so that what you need is visible to us and to the partners asking for the same thing. Silence is the only feedback we cannot use.

Honest status

Where the platform stands

Being built in the open

Today the API authenticates OAuth machine clients and reports the identity, scopes and rate limit of the calling principal. Partner registration and sign-in, the marketplace catalogue, the changelog and the tier pages come in the phases after it. We would rather say that here than let you discover it.

Come and build something

If you are weighing this up, talk to us. If you already know, register — you can build and submit long before anything is published.
